Role Description:
This is an exciting opportunity for a student who’d like to develop their skills and gain more experience in reviewing scientific research through undertaking a systematic literature review. You will also gain experience working closely with an AfN Registered Nutritionist in a freelance setting. Get first hand experience of the broad range of skills needed to run a nutrition business.
Responsibilities:
Search for scientific literature in online databases like PubMed & ScienceDirect
Critically evaluate scientific research
Be able to understand basic statistical methodology and interpret simple statistics like hazard ratio/odd ratio/relative risk
Synthesise scientific literature into structured report
Administrative responsibilities; social media & newsletter scheduling
Manage bibliographic databases
Qualifications & skills:
Must be 2nd or 3rd year BSc Nutrition or Dietetics student (or recently graduated).
Having research experience is preferable.
Strong written & verbal communicator; you will be able to write in an academic style (appropriate for publication in a journal), as well as communicate complex scientific ideas to a lay audience.
You will be well organised, self-motivated, driven and able to work independently.
Must have a strong interest in freelance nutrition.

Remuneration parameters:
This is a part time role – 20 hours per week for 6 weeks
London Living Wage – 9.75/ph
