Today I’m talking to Georgina Grogan of She Might be which is a new online body positive, plus size magazine that’s bringing together all the hot bopo bloggers. So, we start off pretty tame, talking about make up and fashion, but then we go all in. We talk about bullying and getting rid of toxic people around you and how the medical profession like to reduce fat people down to an arbitrary number that’s actually pretty meaningless. This is something that’s pretty close to my heart and I even get kind of emotional. So, this is really important stuff, and if you’re new to body positivity the idea of fat not being the worst thing ever might kind of freak you out so I really recommend you go back and listen to megan from BodyPosiPanda from episode 4 because that give a lot of context for what we’re talking about here.

Another brilliant podcast Laura. Very inspiring and positive. I have just had a difficult morning with my 13 year old who hates her hips and feels fat. The clothes that her friends wear (crop tops and leggings) don’t look the same on her and she was very upset. She doesn’t yet see how beautiful she is but I hope very much that as she grows up she will feel more positive because she’s amazing in so many ways. Anyway, this was a timely podcast for me. X

Thanks Tamara – if your daughter is big on Instagram she might like to follow @bodyposipanda – her account is fun and she is pretty young herself and I know a lot of teens follow her – maybe encourage her to look at that page or check out the episode she did on my podcast – maybe it’s something you can listen to together and talk about if you feel comfortable? I know I wish my mum had these types of conversations with me! Glad you enjoyed this episode too! Btw, did your flowers arrive? They should have been there last week?
